The water flows from travertine springs at temperatures from 120 to 147 degrees. Pools are maintained at 98°F, 104°F and 108°F (37°C, 40°C, 42° C).  The water is untreated with chemicals of any sort.  The waters, among the clearest and hottest in Colorado, are a sodium bicarbonate type with significant levels of boron, lithium and arsenic, rendering them exceptional.

    Lithium, noted for its calming effects, is reportedly also able to influence distribution of sodium and potassium.  Boron is recognized for its benefits to brain function, the immune system, bones and joints.
