Children under the age of five are not allowed in the pools. If visiting with children under the age of five, there is a ‘baby pool’ available, which can be filled with water straight from the hot springs.
Children under 12 are not allowed in the pools without adult supervision.
Pets are welcome on the property as long as they are leashed. However, we do not allow pets in the pool area. While soaking in the hot springs, you are welcome to place your dog into the outdoor kennel area. This is a large kennel with shade. Please remember to bring plenty of water for your dog as well as a lock for the kennel if you feel you need one. The kennel is located in a separate area then the pools, next to Day Parking. While staying overnight, please crate your dog, or other pet, while you are not in your room or yurt.
According to Colorado law, there are differences between service animals and assistance or companion animals:
Joyful Journey Hot Springs Spa follows Colorado law and allows service animals into public spaces, as long as they are not out of control and are housebroken. However, emotional companion or assistance animals are not allowed into most public areas, such as the bathhouses or the pool area. We do have pet friendly accommodations available. While booking your reservation, let us know if you plan on bringing a pet and we can assist you further.
The yurts offer a comfortable and fun overnight stay. Many people refer to sleeping in yurts as ‘glamping’. We offer different style beds, including single queens and multiple twin beds. Each yurt is fully furnished with bedding, blankets, a table, chairs and a heater. During the warm season, they also are furnished with a fan. Watch the stars while you fall asleep with a featured sky light, available in most yurts.
The tipis offer a unique way to camp. Each tipi comes with four padded, twin cots and can sleep up to four people. Bring your own bedding and camp gear! Now you can ditch the tent and camp in style.
The Labyrinth is located on the west side of the yurts. It is sometimes referred to as a maze. However, a maze is a puzzle with choices of path and direction, while a unicursal labyrinth has only a single path to the center. A labyrinth presents no navigational challenge. The Joyful Journey labyrinth is modeled after the Chartres Cathedral near Paris, France, with eleven circuits for walking/mindful meditation purposes. Please do not add, remove, move rocks, or create rock art, anywhere inside or outside the labyrinth. We have the utmost respect for the natural beauty of the area and find great joy in that it can be enjoyed by all who visit, while at the same time remaining undisturbed.
Joyful Journey Hot Springs Spa takes great pride in our geodesic dome greenhouse, which produces flora throughout the year. In addition, as an overnight guest, you may be served some of our homegrown herbs and greenery during meals. The greenhouse is open for you to tour and enjoy, with the following guidelines:
Geothermal, spring-fed pools come into Joyful Journey at approximately 140 degrees. We temper them down to between 98-108 degrees into three different pools and monitor them hourly. Three different pools offer a cool, medium and hot soaking experience.
Yes, use of the dry sauna is included with pool access.
Yes, there is a cold shower located in the pool area.
The healing waters at Joyful Journey Hot Springs Spa are chocked full of minerals that the body loves and needs libido-portugal.com. For a complete list of the minerals in the pools, click here.

Lovely staff, well kept and clean, & very affordable. Only $15 for a day pass!
One of my best friends and I had a long girl’s weekend at Joyful Journeys. We stayed in a yurt and it was wonderful! The yurt was clean, comfortable and so cute! The beds were very comfortable and the views outside were fantastic. The grounds themself are beautiful, and we enjoyed spending time exploring the greenhouse, the meditation hill, and the labyrinth. The bathrooms were clean and well kept, as well as the locker rooms. The pools were clean and perfect temperatures, and the set up is great. I love that they have varying temperatures in the pools and the deck set up is spacious and clear of clutter so you can move around. The staff was also awesome, everyone single person I came in contact with was super nice and accommodating. The meals were very good and I love that they provide both breakfast and dinner. We had such a great time exploring the area during the day and soaking in the evening. Highly recommend!

A trip to remember!
This was our first stay at a hot springs so we decided to add to the new experience by staying overnight in a tipi. Well worth it!! The staff are friendly, helpful, and always seem cheery even at early hours of the morning. They gave us all the info we’d we’d to enjoy our stay and sight see in the area! Staying in a tipi is amazing! Make sure to bring warm blankets and extra layers if you stay during winter months like we did. It get a quite cold at night. It’s perfect, though, getting to go soak in the hot springs pool in the morning when you’re cold (they open the pools at 7am). You warm up real quick! Breakfast was better than expected! Usually continental breakfast means skim pickings. But they had a self serve pancake maker, bagels, English muffins, quiche, breakfast burritos, salads, and tons more to choose from. We ate our fill & left feeling sufficiently nourished!! Definitely lots of coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and cider options to drink too! This place is family and kid friendly. We loved how the atmosphere makes for a great social setting where everyone gets to know one another and hangs out soaking! My boyfriend ended leaving with multiple peoples contact information for potential new jobs & opportunities. Great way to network and make new friends! Needless to say, we will definitely be going back soon! It was a trip to remember and we loved every minute of it!
We stopped in here for an evening soak on our way through the area. It was a really unique experience. The pools were clean, the views of the mountains made the trip! We appreciated the glass partitions that kept the wind at bay. There were pools to fit anyone’s temperature preference. We can’t wait to come back!
Very beautiful location and quite affordable considering meals are provided. Stayed in the rooms and we were comfortable.
Kitchen staff was wonderful and we enjoyed the meals. Appreciate that there were always gluten free options. Coffee was very good (multiple brews offered – recommend Honduras and Mexico) and we liked that salads were offered with breakfast. Dinners felt healthy and were tasty. Portions were generous.
No fridge in rooms though a shared one is available in the dining hall. We were happy that we brought a cooler for snacks and beverages. Ice available for purchase. No television in rooms though we did not miss it. Wi-fi a little spotty and don’t expect to have cell service.
No sulfur smell in the hot springs and the water felt healing. My companion received a massage and said it was a good one.
A little close to the county road so be prepared for some road noise. Still a relaxing environment.
All staff very friendly though the front desk did seem a bit overwhelmed/understaffed.
Overall a very good value and we will be returning.
Food & drinksBreakfast and Dinner provided. Gluten free and relatively healthy. Vegan options. Good drip coffee available at all times. Breakfast: scrambled eggs (or tofu if that’s your preference), bacon/sausage, potatoes, garden salad with berries. Bagels (including gluten free!), oatmeal, pancakes available. Dinner varies but generally rice based. Curries, beans, pickled cabbage, egg rolls. Tofu with mushrooms. Simple but well prepared.
One of the most beautiful hot springs I’ve been to, and I’ve been to many. Quiet space, amazing views, staff is lovely, great breakfast. My whole family loves it. We’ll come back.
I must say, Michelle (the housekeeping manger) was the friendliest person here! Michelle, It was so nice to meet you, sorry our paths only crossed when you helped me unlock my door.
They were unable to break a $100 (I don’t get it!) at the F.D. So I made you a scrubbie. Thank you for creating such a nice environment, as the room so clean and nice. Actually the most healing aspect of my experience here.
Again, nice to meet you! They can’t beat you cause you are smarter and more beautiful for them to comprehend! Smile and enjoy in the ultimate knowing! Live long and sing songs!
Love and Respect from a strange stranger,
Charline
Damaris Jarboux and I have led a Holy Wisdom Retreat at JJSH three times since 2008. It has been our experience that this peaceful spa is the perfect place for doing deep work groups. The accommodations are luxurious with down bedding, large rooms, and private baths. The teaching room is spacious with gorgeous views complete with a fireplace for cold mornings and winter retreats. The kitchen is perfect for our caterers and the spa services complete the experience with masterful body workers to aid us in achieving complete relaxation. Joyful Journey is a balm for the body, the soul, the spirit and a place where the promise of harmony is realized.
This place is dreamy. Nice bath and lockerooms. Staff were very kind and helpful. The ambiance was amazing with the fires by soaking pools and the mountains in the distance. The polar plunge was a great experience. I highly recommend it!
