The beginning of a new year is a natural time for setting intentions (sankalpas) & putting new patterns into place. It is a valuable time to pause in reflection of the past, and a powerful time to dream of what you’d like to bring to fruition in the coming year. It is a time when the days grow longer and longer & there is a great, yet gradual, awakening from the depths of winter- a precious, quiet time just before the seeds begin to stir.
While a new year can hold much potential, we know that what comes from a year is built in the day-to-day moments. However, in order to bring a dream into reality we first have to let something go. This is the most challenging part. Our lives are shaped by our past experiences and it can be difficult to let go of old stories & patterns that bring comfort, even if this release is what we most desire.
As we build the courage to let go of the past & step into unknown territory, we simultaneously call forth what it is we want to step into. The clearer we are about what we want, the more readily it will come forth. We have to build energy & stamina behind it, for you are forging a new path. It’s one thing to set an intention, or create a resolution, and a whole other thing to see it made manifest in our lives.
As we enter this new year, a new beginning, let us create all we need for new things to come forth. The healing waters of Joyful Journey are a perfect conduit for this. There are so many amazing benefits to these mineral rich waters of the San Luis Valley, and what better paring to them than the practice of yoga. Join me for an unforgettable journey to this deeply healing place. Be prepared to release all that no longer serves you and open to all that is ready to come into being by your endlessly creative Soul.
Begin the Year Reconnected
At the start of a new year, before life fills with deadlines and responsibilities, give yourself the gift of time to truly be.
The Joyful Journey Reconnection Retreat is a 4-day, 3-night all-inclusive experience designed to help you slow down, restore your nervous system, and reconnect with your body, heart, and spirit.
Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the San Luis Valley, with natural hot springs and wide-open skies, this retreat invites you to begin your year grounded, clear, and replenished.
Sacred Springs: Yoga and Rewilding for Ecological Intimacy.
Event description
We heal with nature, and nature heals with us.
This powerful three-day healing retreat, nestled amidst the breathtaking landscapes of the Sangre de Cristo mountains, is designed to reignite our connection with our bodies, hearts, and ecosystems. Transmute relational wounding to intimate embodiment through Yoga, ecstatic dance, cacao ceremony, and rewilding/intimacy workshops led by eco-therapist and Yoga teacher, Mickey Myers. Begin each day with a heart-opening Yoga flow, followed by transformative rituals for self-love and empowerment. Nourishing meals crafted from locally sourced ingredients support your journey towards holistic wellness. Comfortable accommodations in yurts or at the lodge provide a restorative and rejuvenating nature healing retreat.
Sample Schedule
Pre-Arrival: Each participant will receive one individual session with the facilitator to prepare body and heart to enter into sacred healing space. The retreat is custom-designed to support each participant in their healing journey, which may look like the following examples:
Day 1: Arrival and Opening Ceremony
Upon arrival, immerse yourself in the tranquil atmosphere of Joyful Journeys Hot Springs. Begin with an opening ceremony and grounding session in the Yoga shala, where you’ll settle into your surroundings and set intentions for the transformative journey ahead.
Afterward, you’ll be guided through an intimacy meditation in the springs, followed by a delicious locally-sourced dinner. End your first evening with restorative Yoga, and free time to enjoy the hot springs, cold plunge, and sauna.
Day 2: Deepening Connections
We’ll start our day with a revitalizing Vinyasa Yoga flow, harmonizing mind, body, and spirit amidst the serenity of the San Luis Valley, followed by a nourishing breakfast and nature immersion in the herbal greenhouse. After lunch we gather for a cacao ceremony and ecstatic dance. This sacred ritual opens the heart and facilitates deeper connections, focus, and presence. Move through your soul’s deep wildness with ecstatic dance—a liberating practice that encourages self-expression and connection through movement.
In the evening, guided by skilled facilitators, ecological integration groups focus on healing relational wounds and nurturing healthy relationships with Self, others, and nature. Through guided exercises and sharing circles, explore pathways to feeling safer and more secure in intimacy. Ease your nervous system with a sound bath Yin Yoga session before bed.
Day 3: Integration and Renewal
The final day begins with a reflective Vinyasa Yoga session, inviting you to integrate the insights and experiences gained during the retreat. Following the session, enjoy breakfast before embarking on a labyrinth meditation. Immerse yourself in the pristine and rugged San Luis Valley, deepening connection with body, heart, and Earth.
Before departure, participate in a closing ceremony and movement practice that honors the transformations and connections forged during your time together. Leave the retreat with a renewed sense of inner peace, connection, and empowerment, ready to navigate self-love intimacy with greater ease and authenticity.
Come for the reconnection. Stay for the revolution.
Join us this Valentine’s Day for a sensual journey through breath, body, and the luminous heart. A self-love reset. For singles, couples, or besties.

AMOR – the word for love in both Spanish and Portuguese, and the root of many expressions of love across languages and cultures. While February is often shaped by commercial narratives around love, I choose to focus on love’s deeper, more personal and spiritual essence.
For this retreat, I dedicate space to all forms of love – especially self-love and conscious love. I invite you to join me for a nourishing weekend retreat devoted to healing, restoration, and connection.
Our time together will be anchored by daily conscious breathwork journeys, and complemented by supportive practices designed to open the heart and spirit. In many traditions, the heart is seen as the seat of transformation and unconditional love – both toward ourselves and in relationship with others. Through breathwork, we’ll gently explore and release any blockages that may be limiting the flow of love in our lives.
Together in community, we’ll follow a thoughtfully curated flow of activities, allowing for deep introspection, sacred rest, and plenty of time spent in the healing waters of the mineral-rich hot springs.
This marks the fourth year of offering this retreat, and I’m truly excited to share even more with you this time around. Whether it’s your first time or you’re back for more, I promise an expansive, love filled weekend.
