The Art of Well-Being: A Restorative Retreat

By in Blog with 0 Comments

As we make changes in our life, whether through marriage, divorce, children or moving across the country, we are allowed to reinvent ourselves as we learn and grow and grow and learn.

The same holds true for the skills we gain over the years through our work and life experiences. When I started working at Joyful Journey, my ego thought I could make things better, improve on what was. However, as I promote Joyful Journey to potential visitors and retreat leaders, I am reminded of what the GM told me when I tried to bring some corporate guidelines to this sacred place: “If they are supposed to be here, they will be.” How simple and potent that one line is that absolutely serves this isolated, peaceful oasis.

While Joyful Journey continues to maneuver (Oi! COVID!), flex and flow, we try new ways to contribute to our guests’ experiences and to expand ways of exposing people to the sacred land and healing waters. Currently, we are developing in-house retreats. It is something the owner has wanted to do since acquiring this gem in 1999. The efforts have ebbed, but not yet flowed. So, please allow us to unabashedly promote The Art of Well-Being: A Restorative Retreat, to you here.

Yes, a restorative retreat would serve us all, and we will expand participation in the future, this retreat is specifically designed with caregivers and healthcare workers in mind. In our humble opinion, these first-responders have been hardest-hit this past year. We are not expressing anything to you that you do not already know: the need for caregivers and healthcare professionals to take time to unwind, decompress, plus learn and apply self-stewardship tools was needed before COVID, and is even more imperative since COVID.

The architects and designers of this restorative retreat have either been caregivers or involved in healthcare. We are each and all aware of the importance of providing a space and place for individuals to relax, share their stories, restore their equilibrium and learn tools that will help them when they return to their workplace and families. An opportunity to continue to learn and grow and grow and learn.

Joyful Journey is currently inviting participants to this June 27 – July 2, 2021 event. If you, or someone you know, could benefit from a peaceful, restorative (and fun!) get-away-from-it-all retreat, a full schedule can be found here: joyfuljourneyhotsprings.com/artofwellbeing, along with the bios of the retreat leaders and a registration form.

We are also seeking businesses and individuals who would like to sponsor participants who want to attend. Joyful has already received a handful of appeals from individuals interested. Please click here to read their requests, and if you are able to support one or more individuals, contact me at 719-256-4328.

Now that you know about this restorative retreat, allow yourself to do better. And if you are supposed to be here, you will.
